Beginning the Journey

The goal of the 7th and 8th grade curriculum is to provide each girl with a balanced, rigorous, and hands-on experience. Daily classes include English, Mathematics, Theology, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language. The program of study also includes Technology, Fine Arts, Physical Education and Wellness. Students participate in an enrichment period where they can be either engaged in extra help sessions, learning-based activities, or meeting individually with counselors or mentors.

Our 7th and 8th grade program develops students’ study and time management abilities, while focusing on skills-based academic development. These foundational years lead to success in the Early College courses. Students also delve into concepts like conflict resolution and self advocacy, while growing in our core values of Responsibility, Respect, Reconciliation, and Reverence.

We encourage our young students to test their limits and try new things outside of the traditional academic space. As our scholastic experience grows, our co-curricular offerings will further expand to include more access to and opportunities for engagement at the appropriate level of participation.

Since my daughter started at Fontbonne, I have seen my little girl grow to become a strong and confident young woman. She has learned how to advocate for herself and others. That is why her little sister came on board this year. I can’t wait to see them grow and reveal their true personalities because I know Fontbonne is the right community to ensure their success.
