Students Take First Place In Fidelity Stock Market Challenge

Our students took part in the Fidelity Investments Stock Market Challenge. This week's meeting concluded a three-part series in the challenge.  Students first spent a day at Fidelity headquarters in Boston learning about the stock market, stock price determination, how to analyze company earnings and give a stock pitch. They then had to research and evaluate their chosen stock and review the company's financial documents in order to predict their financials for the next three years.

On Monday, the students delivered their stock pitch; explaining and defending their predictions about the company's future earnings. One of our teams took First Place for their presentation on Electronic Arts. They were awarded Amazon gift cards.

In all six Fontbonne students took part; Isabel Alvarado '21, Sydnee Bridges '21, Olivia Chiavegato '21, Adrianna Davis '21, Baheeja Muntasser '21 and Ruizhe Shen '21. "The students put a lot of hard work into their presentations and I was very proud of what they had accomplished.  I think it was a unique and challenging experience," said Ms. Stephanie Cuffe, Math Department Chairperson.

Congratulations to all of these young women. Thank you for representing Fontbonne!
