Varsity Basketball Coach Clare Murphy ’87 won her 300th career game on January 29th against Notre Dame Academy! Only six women basketball coaches in the state of Massachusetts have ever accomplished this tremendous feat. Clare has been the Fontbonne Head Basketball Coach for the past 21 years, and previously acted as the JV Coach for 7 years.
Since Clare has taken on the role of Head Coach, Fontbonne Basketball has had a tradition of skilled and disciplined basketball. Clare’s teams have qualified for State Tournament 19 out of her 21 years, her teams have gone on to participate in the South Sectional Finals a number of times, and the 2004 team won the Semi-Finals held at TD Garden. Her record speaks for itself. Thank you Clare for your dedication to the Basketball Program and Fontbonne Academy.
