Her family lives in a quiet South Shore town where injustice and poverty seem foreign and far away. Then the Sisters of Saint Joseph introduce her to the ‘Dear Neighbor’. Gradually, the girl’s perspective shifts. Her mind opens. Her heart multiplies. She visits elderly women, lonely and forgotten in city apartments. She marches to fund cures for awful diseases. She tutors disadvantaged kids overlooked in crowded classrooms. ‘Find Your Voice’ is a slogan she sees in some schools’ ads. She always had a voice. Now, thanks to Fontbonne, she uses it.
