Tuition, scholarships & financial aid

Tuition & fees

Tuition for Academic Year 2008-2009 is $12,000.

The total cost for books varies depending on whether new or used books are purchased. Activity fee is $300.

Students must also purchase a uniform. The cost varies, depending on student choice, but averages about $250.

Scholarships

Fontbonne Academy awards a limited number of partial academic scholarships based upon 7th and 8th grade transcripts and High School Placement Test scores. Fontbonne is pleased to recognize and encourage young women coming to high school with a record of academic achievement.

Fontbonne also awards students need-based financial aid in the form of work study grants to help defray the cost of tuition. Students are assigned various jobs on campus carried out before and after school, and during unscheduled time.

Financial Aid

Applications for financial aid may be obtained in the Main Office or the President's Office. Completed applications must be submitted to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by December 1st.

PARENTS WILL RECEIVE LETTERS ABOUT FINANCIAL AID AWARDS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2008-2009 BY APRIL 30, 2008.

FACTS is a company engaged by the school to process all financial aid applications and make an initial assessment about each family's need. All final financial aid decisions are made by a committee at Fontbonne, and the awards come from Fontbonne, not FACTS. Financial aid decisions will be mailed with acceptance letters. In addition to returning the signed form attached to the acceptance letter, applicants must register to confirm enrollment and acceptance of financial aid. Students who are not registered by the deadline risk the loss of their aid.

PLEASE NOTE: Late applicants and/or registrants may receive consideration for financial aid, but there is no guarantee any aid will remain available after the deadlines have passed. Those who apply and register by the published deadlines (December 1st for applications and February 16th for registration) have the best chance of receiving aid. Others may have to wait until 10th grade for consideration.
