SENIOR BULLETIN

Financial Aid and Scholarship Information

The FAFSA should be out of your hands and mailed now. Financial Aid is awarded on a first come first served basis. Be sure you get your form sent early. You do not have to have heard from any college. As soon as an admissions office accepts a student who has indicated she is applying for financial aid, the application is passed on to the Financial Aid Office for their consideration. Some schools send the acceptance letter and the financial award together. Don’t lose out!!! And remember! Send thank you notes to everyone who interviewed you and to anyone else who has been particularly helpful as you have gone through this application process.

Reminders:

Let your Guidance Counselor know of all your decisions – good and not so good. Remember, there are colleges with rolling admissions where you can apply late into the spring. If what you planned doesn’t work out, there are other paths to follow. See you counselor!!! It is never too late to apply to many colleges.

All scholarship awards will be acknowledged in the graduation program. This is for all your colleges, not just the one you chose to attend. You must bring in a copy of the award letter to your counselor. A phone call or something written on a piece of paper won’t do.

The Guidance Department will send out your mid-year grades to the colleges that require them. You should have a form for this and turn it into the guidance office with your name, address, and the name of the college. Most of you have already done this. We generate the list from these forms. If your second term/midsemester grades are better than Term I and you would like your colleges to have a copy of these grades even though they didn’t request them, bring us a regular business sized envelope addressed to the college(s) with your name (no address) in the left hand corner. We will send it (them) out for you with the official school seal.

The college you chose to attend requires and will receive your final report card for the year. The grades need to be about the same as those you submitted with your application. If they are not, the college has the right to withdraw your acceptance. That means, No Senioritis!!
