Bill Dickey Scholarship Association (Formerly National Minority Junior Golf Scholarship Association) - Offers an award of $1,000 to $6,000 per year for minority high school seniors who excel at golf. Educational Communications Scholarship Foundation – awards 61 scholarships to meritorious students:

  • Founder’s Scholarship awards 1 student $6,000.
  • Chairman’s Scholarship awards 5 students $5,000 each.
  • Outstanding Achievement awards 10 students $2,500 each.
  • Academic Scholarship awards 45 students $1,000 each.

2007 Education Exchange College Grant Program will award $50,000 in grants to eligible college-bound students. Four $5,000 grants and thirty $1,000 grants will be awarded. Criteria include the following: scholastic achievement, character and leadership, essay responses, and financial need.

Charles Eliot II Scholarship – offered in his memory by The Metropolitan Area Planning Council. This is a cash prize of at least $500 awarded to a recipient who will plan to attend college with an interest in land use planning as it affects open space protection, land management and other ecological issues. This is open to students living in the 101 cities and towns west from Boston including most communities inside the I-495 area. For a complete list of these areas visit the web site at www.mapc.org. Graphic Communication Council 1899 Preston White Dr., Reston, VA 20191- 4367 (703) 648-1768. Awards 300 scholarships for students preparing to enter a career in the graphic communication industry. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA when in college. Write to the above address for an application package.

The Humane Society of the United States Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship – This is a $2,000 scholarship for a New England high school senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time. Financial need is not a consideration. Deadline is 03/15/07. There is no standardized application form to complete. Applications should be written in letter form and should include a narrative of the student’s achievements in animal protection and a discussion of your attitude toward animals. Documentation of the activities cited, recommendations from at least three people, and a description of future plans for humane work are required. Letters from teachers, mentors, supervisors, peers and others are helpful. Include your home address and phone number. Donna Jamison Lago Memorial Scholarship – Offers an award of $1,000 to $1,500 per year for minority high school seniors in good academic standing who will be going on to college. For more information call (202) 298-8226 or visit the web site at www.nextgennetwork.com

KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program – up to $5,000 per year for graduating seniors who will enroll in a public, in-state college, maintain at least a 2.75 GPA, are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, need financial assistance for college and have entrepreneurial spirit. Sallie Mae Scholarships – offers $1,000 to $3,800 to full-time students whose financial aid packages fall short by $1,000 or more. Massachusetts Restaurant Association Hospitality Institute - $2,000 scholarships available to students interested in pursuing further education in culinary arts, hospitality, and restaurant/food service management. McDonald’s USA National Employee Scholarship – offers $1,000 and one McScholar of the Year wins $5,000. One outstanding employee from each state wins. Must be currently employed at a U.S. McDonald’s restaurant, have at least four months of continuous employment and work a minimum of 15 hours per week. Merrimack College – offers the Catholic High School Scholarship which is a $12,000 scholarship for qualified students who will be graduating from a Catholic High School and attending Merrimack College this fall. The requirements include: must be accepted for enrollment, nominated students have at least a 3.0 GPA and a minimum of 1100 on the SAT or a minimum composite score of 24 on the ACT and an endorsement from Fontbonne Academy. NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation – 1201 F Street NW Suite 200 Washington, DC 20004 – at least 400 up-and-coming seniors will receive a $1,000 Young Entrepreneur Award next spring from the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation. Donna Reed Performing Arts Scholarship – offers $1,000 for first place, $250 for second place and $200 for 3rd place for students who have talent in acting, musical theater, voice, dance or an instrument. Presidential Scholars – awarded a $9,500 annual grant or $38,000 over a four year undergraduate career. This is the University’s highest level of academic excellence.

Dean’s Scholars – receive an annual grant of $7,000 or $28,000 over a four year undergraduate career.

University Grants – award a $3,000 annual grant or $12,000 over a four year undergraduate career.

10th annual “Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year sponsored by America’s Milk Processors and USA Today – offers a $7,500 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program, an invitation for winners, parents and/or guardians to attend a SAMMY 2007 weekend at the Disney World Complex in Orlando, FL scheduled for June 2007 and an opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in a June 2007 edition of USA Today and other national magazines. Students can be nominated from now until 03/09/07 by teachers, coaches, principals, guidance counselors, athletic directors, parents, relatives or themselves. The following five criteria are used for judging of the nominees: academic performance (35%), athletic excellence (35%), leadership (15%), community service (10%) and milk experience (5%). Billy D. Young Scholarship – offers a $1,000 scholarship sponsored by the National Safety Council. Recognizes students interested in a degree in either safety or industrial hygiene and plan to go into the safety and or health fields.
