CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
1. Be prepared for class. You must bring your notebook and text or workbook as assigned.
2. Arrive at class on time, in uniform. If you must be late, be certain to have a pass. Failure to do this will result in a detention. Observe all the rules in the Student Handbook. Note especially the policy regarding food. Failure to follow this policy will result in detention.
3. If you miss a quiz or test for any reason, you must take a make-up within five days of returning to class. (See Student Handbook) Make-ups must be scheduled with the teacher.
4. If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. Ask a classmate what was covered in class and what the assignment was. It is your responsibility to show the teacher any homework assignments that were due while you were absent.
5. It is expected that each student do her own work. Hand in assignment on the due date. Homework assignments are often corrected in class. Thus, such homework will not be accepted from a student present in class unless accompanied by a note from parent/guardian in extraordinary circumstances. When possible, an alternative homework assignment may be given.
6. Written homework is assigned frequently. It is essential that students complete the homework assignment and review some material each day in order to master it. Students who keep up with the work this way are better prepared for tests and semester exams.
7. Take advantage of extra help given in the Language Support Center , after school, and at mutually convenient times.
8. Tests count twice, quizzes count once. Students may take an alternate version of any grammar test and, providing they achieve a higher grade on the alternate version, the two test grades will be averaged. Homework assignments each semester cumulatively count as a test grade.
KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU MUST ACHIEVE THE YEAR’S GRADE SPECIFIED IN THE
PROGRAM OF STUDIES AND REITERATED BY THE INSTRUCTOR TO CONTINUE ON IN THE NEXT
LEVEL OF LATIN.
