Welcome to Señora Hanchett’s Spanish 4 class!

 

Classroom Policies:

1.      Students should follow all school policies found in the student handbook.

2.      Be ready to start class when the bell rings.  This means:

Be quiet and ready for prayer.

Have all materials on your desk.

3.      Always be respectful of yourself and of others.

4.      Participation in class is always expected.

5.      You are encouraged to use Spanish as much as possible.

 

Materials:

            -Please bring the following to class every day:

                        Spanish notebook, workbook, Spanish/English dictionary, pen or pencil

 

Spanish notebook:

            -3 ring binder at least 1” thick, plenty of loose leaf paper, index dividers.

            -Divided into 3 sections:  Vocabulario, Gramática y Cultura.

-Organization and completeness of materials in notebook will be essential to help students complete homework and study.

 

Homework:

            There will be homework every evening.  Written homework is to be completed before entering the classroom, and will usually be reviewed in class.  Written homework will be collected randomly (about once per week) and will be graded.

 

 

Late work:

-Homework may be turned in one day late for a maximum of 50% credit.  After that, homework will not be accepted.

            -Long term assignments will be accepted up to 5 days late, losing 10% each day.

 

Grading: 

            Grades will be calculated using a total point system.  Each assignment, quiz and test will be given a point value and the quarter grades will be calculated by dividing the total points earned by the total points possible.

 

 

***STUDENTS MUST DO THEIR OWN WORK, UNLESS A GROUP  ASSIGNMENT IS GIVEN.  When a student receives any type of writing assignment, standard dictionaries may be used, but online translators are not allowed!!!

 

**Remember that to continue on to the honors and/or elective level, you must meet the prerequisite average as stated in the Program of Studies**
